despite the fact that its October
You know that bag of mini Halloween candy bars I bought last Friday? The one I nonchalantly tossed into my Target cart when I was actually there for undershirts for DanO and a belt for me? The 52 piece one?Yea, we ate it all.Do you know what 52 divided by 7 divided by 2 is?3.714. I had 3.714 bite-size candy bars a day last week. But hey! So did DanO! ::points finger::And I think I’ve had at least 2 pumpkin spice or caramel apple coffee drinks a week for a month. O My Autumn they have been calling my name.“Hi AllisonO! Look at us! We are caffeinated, warm, and come with cardboard sleeves that are 25% post-consumer product! DRINK US.” And I obey because they leave off the “And we have 1/5th of your daily suggested caloric intake” part.O, and also due to the season, I should probably tell you that my jogging habits fell with the temperature in the last three weeks. Which makes the snow forecast for tomorrow morning during the 5k all but hilarious. And yet. And yet I have had to go jeans shopping three times postpartum. The first time was five weeks out and I was over maternity pants, so I went to Old Navy with a college roommate. I was feeling pretty good, only having gone up one size from my pre-pregnant self so I bought two pair. But then, three weeks after that (we’re eight weeks postpartum if you’re counting), the two pair of jeans I bought were just too loose. Like, pull them down straight over my hips without unbuttoning them, loose. So back I went, this time to Gap thinking, hoorah! I am back in my old size thanks to running and eating well (this was before the candy bars) and I can invest in one new good pair!Side note: LOVE their ‘sexy bootcut’. No one paid me to say that.Ok so I’m wearing my new pair from Gap last week (11 weeks postpartum), making dinner, when DanO comes home from work and i kid you not the first words out of his mouth are: “Are those jeans too big for you?”I didn’t want to say it, but I had thought they kind of were. I hadn’t been running or eating well (enter: candy bars) for almost a month so I wrote it off. Until I washed them and they were still too big.Cut to me in Old Navy on Wednesday buying one pair the size down from what I was pre-pregnancy.Was it the tall no-whip non-fat pumpkin spice latte I had ordered last week? Couldn’t be. Was it that time I thought about running but decided it was too cold? No.The only consistent theme here is: BREAST FEEDING.Amen and amen.Photo courtesy of my camera’s self-timer
